Carbamide Peroxide Teeth Whitener
There are many alternative ways where people transform their physical countenance or appearance. Cosmetic surgery and other procedures, which used to be done mainly for medical reconstructive purposes, and occasionally was used by the rich and famous, are now commonly used by many in all walks of life.
One upcoming cosmetic on the face kind of treatment that is very well known is tooth whitening. This simple and effective treatment is usually inexpensive and painless, doesn’t take too long, and yields great results.
There are several versions of teeth whitener, but the most powerful and most utilizied one is the carbamide peroxide teeth whitener. The chemical compound of hydrogen peroxide and carbamide, or urea, is highly effective in “bleaching” the enamel and eventually the dentin of the teeth to yield a brighter white coloring.
On the contrary, this chemical can be detrimental for the skin, eyes and respiratory system. When used in high concentration (say 35% or more) it can cause white chemical burns on the gums or skin. At lower concentrations, however, it is safe for use on teeth.
Technically, this chemical compound is contained in the gel and paste that dentists utilize in their whitening treatments given in their field of work, as it is the best and safest chemical for the job. Still, it is necessary for dentists to protect the gums and skin surrounding the mouth from the compound. To do this, they use a tool to keep the lips away, and a darn to cover the gums right up to the teeth that will be treated. In this way carbamide peroxide teeth whitener is safely utilized as a tooth whitener.
Carbamide peroxide is also contained in tooth whitening kits used commonly by those who do the treatment at the comfort of their home. This teeth whitener is used in a concentration that is safe to be used outside the dentist’s office by any adult. The gel used in whitening strips or teeth trays can still sometimes cause irritation or even white spots to appear on the gums and teeth. However, these will disappear in a short time.
Despite carbamide peroxide teeth whitener being deemed safe for public consumption, this does not indicate that you will respond well to it. Keep in mind that false teeth or caps may not be affected by it, leaving those teeth a darker shade than the natural teeth that are treated.
There is still one factor to think about which is tooth sensitivity. If you have teeth that are already prone to being sensitive, it is likely that they will respond with sensitivity to carbamide peroxide. Even those with no history of tooth sensitivity might experience sensitivity to the chemical.
However at the end of the day, this chemical has been the work behind many happy faces and smiles of people everywhere. Even for those who may be sensitive to the compound, it is possible to space treatments over a longer period of time to decrease the concentration in the exposure.
Carbamide peroxide can do the transformation to almost anyone’s smile. If you are wanting a brighter, more impressive smile, this chemical will do it for you, either at home, or in the dentist’s office!
